Everything You Need to Know About Celebrant Services
When wedding planning gets a bit mad and everyone's running around like headless chickens, I'm the calm one with the clipboard who remembers where you put the rings. If life has dealt you a difficult hand, I'm here as that steady pair of hands you can trust completely.
Legal Requirements & Ceremony Basics
In England and Wales, celebrant ceremonies are symbolic rather than legally binding. You'll need to complete the legal requirements separately, typically through a brief registry office appointment (often called a "signing"). Most couples do this a few days before their celebrant ceremony, though it can be done before or after. This gives you the legal marriage certificate while allowing your celebrant ceremony to be a true celebration of your relationship.
Planning & Booking
For weddings, I recommend booking 6-12 months in advance, especially for popular dates (weekends, summer months, and holiday periods). However, I'm happy to work with shorter timescales when possible – please don't hesitate to contact me regardless of your timeline.
Service & Investment
My wedding package includes initial consultation, unlimited planning meetings, personalised ceremony creation with multiple draft reviews, coordination with other suppliers, professional delivery on the day, and digital copies of all ceremony materials afterwards.
Ceremony Details
Wedding ceremonies usually last 20-30 minutes, but this can be adjusted based on your preferences. Some couples prefer shorter, intimate ceremonies, while others want longer celebrations with multiple readings and rituals.
Specialist Services
